The Accelerator is open to media entrepreneurs with scalable ventures building a more open and informed society. If you run a new or existing media organisation and have an outlet, service, business plan or prototype with the potential for wide reach among multiple language audiences across the region, including Russian speakers, then we want to hear from you. Participants will receive up to €10,000 in funding, access to world class mentors and support from leading tech, legal and finance experts to turn your plan into reality.

What do we offer?

The media accelerator is a 4-month programme for media companies spanning all stages of development: from functional prototypes and viable business plans to those with more significant traction seeking to expand into the Baltic countries and international markets.

Mentoring from successful media entrepreneurs and subject matter experts

Foundation training modules covering topics including financial health management, intellectual property law, and digital marketing principles

Bespoke support packages tailored to the needs of your team, ranging from market insights to custom-built software

A series of workshops delivered by industry leaders and networking events

Up to €10,000 grant funding

Access to a business and advertising network and the opportunity for series A funding

The Process

We encourage to submit your application in English or Russian as early as possible to maximise your chances of success. Teams who are successful at the first stage will be invited to submit a work plan, budgets, business model and team chart through an expanded application form.

Eligibility & Application

We accept applications from existing media companies and startups who engage Baltic audiences (including Russian speakers) and have a product or service that could be scaled up with the help of industry leaders, financial grants and bespoke training.

To be eligible to participate in the programme you need to meet the following criteria:

1

Your project must engage Russian speaking audiences in one or more of the following countries: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

2

You should have a viable plan for increasing audience share sustainably

3

Your project must be permanently based in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania

4

You must be available to dedicate at least 8 hours per week to the accelerator between October 2017 and end of February 2018
